New arable agric.programme commences July

The Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security has drafted a new arable programme that will be implemented starting July.
Responding to a question in Parliament on April 5, assistant minister, Mr Molebatsi Molebatsi said the new programme had, among others, considered output-based production as an incentive to the farming community.
Nata/Gweta MP, Mr Polson Majaga wanted to know if the minister would re-consider the Integrated Support Programme for Arable Agriculture Development (ISPAAD) programme so that farmers could be paid according to their produce and not according to hectares ploughed. ends
