Liswaani JSS celebrates good results
05 Apr 2022
Learners have been advised not to be discouraged by poor conditions or humble backgrounds.
This was the advice of Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC), Acting Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Ms Samantha Chabata, when giving a keynote address during Liswaani 1 JSS Maduo celebration ceremony in Kachikaue recently.
Ms Chabata said education was key to personal development hence she advised learners to always aim higher and never stop learning.
She said there were many people, who had come from worse backgrounds, but were now affluent, hence they should not let their situations define them.
She said BHC was encouraged by the pattern of results posted by the school over the years and saw it as an opportunity to support the educational initiatives of the villages in the beautiful Chobe Enclave.
Ms Chabata said the corporation was pleased to be associated with a progressive school like Liswaani 1 JSS and their hope was that the current crop of pupils would do exceptionally well.
She encouraged the school community to continue with the sterling job and urged teachers to not drop the ball because someone somewhere was watching their commitment in moulding pupils.
BHC awarded prizes and certificates to the top five pupils and teachers who reached the 50 percentage target as well as those who added value quality from their previous marks.
The corporation also donated six computers, one printer and 40 school bags.
The school head, Mr Frank Mahulela said the school got 48.1 per cent JCE quality pass compared to 38.5 per cent in 2020 and it managed to add the value of +9.6 per cent from the previous results.
He said Liswaani1 JSS had maintained position one in the Chobe area and ranked 43rd out of 213 junior secondary schools in Botswana. He appealed to BHC to adopt the school.
Basubia Chief, Munitenge Lawrence Sinvula III also encouraged learners to take their education seriously and encouraged parents to attend the school ceremonies.
Phomolo Ndoli won the best overall pupil, followed by Boago Shaka and Laone Kagiso respectively. ENDS
