Charleshill community cooperation impresses enumerators
28 Mar 2022
Charleshill Sub-district community members have been cooperative ever since the commencement of the ongoing Population and Housing Census, acting deputy district commissioner has said.
Mr William Keareng told BOPA that the cooperation and civility by community members towards enumerators was heartening as there had been no resistance registered.
“So far so good. Cooperation is overwhelming, just like during the recent pilot census exercise,” stated Mr Keareng.
He said the extensive community mobilisation and consultation worked.
Mr Keareng said together with his team, they were always on stand-by to address issues promptly, should the need arise.
He said police had assured his officee of their visibility the entire period of the exercise, to ensure safety of e-gargets used by enumerators.
Kgosi Bernard Kaome of Tshootsha also extoled the cooperation displayed by the community, saying it reflected that Batswana were a warm nation.
Kgosi Kaome explained that where there was a language barrier, community members were always willing to assist. Ends
