Training of enumerators in Kgatleng complete

16 Mar 2022

Training of enumerators for the 2021 Population and Housing Census in the Kgatleng District, which took place on March 1 through 14 has been completed.

Closing the sessions on Monday, Borwa Junior Secondary School head, Ms Deborah Tlhowe said an assessment and selection test that was administered at the end of the training was a process employed to get the best among the good, as such, those not selected remained in the reserve list to be recalled, should the need arise.

She said the latest technology referred to as Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) which would be used for enumeration, facilitated speedy interviewing with inbuilt logics to do basic data processing simultaneously.

“As enumerators, you will be entrusted with the responsibilities to collect quality census data across districts and localities in Botswana.

You will do this individually within your assigned enumeration areas,” she said, adding that the job of an enumerator was important and challenging.

Ms Tlhowe acknowledged all those who attended training for the relentless endurance amidst challenges that came with training of enumerators.
She also congratulated and acknowledged the role of organisers and trainers. ENDS
