It is important for the population to understand the multiple purpose that the Population and Housing Census serves, besides the total count of the country’s population.

Addressing Malatswae residents in a kgotla meeting recently, Serowe Administrative Authority Population and Housing Census publicity committee chairperson, Mr Clifas Kemiso said information from the census had an extensive range of uses since different trades could use census data for business planning.

Mr Kemiso told residents that the information would also determine location of business enterprises and determination of market magnitude and product output levels.

Residents were also informed that those engaged in the exercise would be identified by protective clothing bearing the census logo, official letters of appointment on Government of Botswana letterhead, national identity cards with names corresponding to those on letter of appointment and census branded vehicles. ends
