Sese police are investigating an incident in which a middle-aged man of Goo-Lobeko ward in Kanye was found in a trench at Kgwatlheng ward on Monday.

An interview with station commander,  Superintendent Mogomotsi Matlapeng revealed that the man died two days later at Gaborone’s Princess Marina Hospital, where he was referred to by Kanye Seventh Day Adventist Hospital.

Superintendent Matlapeng said the man was found by a passer-by during the day, who alerted the police.

The body is awaiting post-mortem while investigations into the matter continue.

Superintendent Matlapeng  cautioned members of the public against walking alone at night and encouraged them to always alert their families of their whereabouts.

Meanwhile, the station commander said his office was investigating an incident in which about five men invaded Security Systems offices with weapons in the wee hours of Monday.

However, he said the men retreated upon realising that there were people inside the offices.

“They fled the scene when they realised that there were people inside. Fortunately, no one was injured and no property was stolen.

The men are reported to have covered their faces and there are suspicions that they had a getaway car,” he said.

He appealed to the public to alert the police whenever they saw vehicles parked suspiciously at odd hours. ENDS
