Over P4m balance remains in Tonota coffers
03 Mar 2022
Local government and rural development assistant minister, Ms Talita Monnakgotla says she is not aware that Tonota Sub-district Council has depleted its allocated Community Constituency Projects (CCP) funds without any remaining balances.
“Our records indicate that there is a balance of P4 902 480 from the P10 million that was disbursed to the sub-district during the 2019/2020 financial year and these funds are earmarked for ongoing projects,” Ms Monnakgotla said.
That notwithstanding, she said all councils had been requested to submit project memoranda for the 2022/2023 CCP budget cycle.
The assistant minister was responding to a question from Tonota MP, Mr Pono Moatlhodi, who had asked the minister to state when the ministry would avail more funds f, given that the Tonota sub-council had long spent its allocated CCP funds. ends
