22 Feb 2022

Makalamabedi clinic, a donation of Leseding Interiors, is expected to be completed by end of this month.
Briefing Boteti Sub-council session in Letlhakane on Thursday, senior district officer for development, Ms Patience Fanikiso stated that all internal works had been completed, save for power inspection.
She indicated that the plot for six staff houses had also been secured.
Ms Fanikiso also stated the contractor of special classrooms at Tsienyane Primary School in Rakops had handed the project to Debswana mining company.
The project, which began in October 2020, was donated by Debswana at a contract sum of P4.75 million.
She noted that the classrooms were, however, awaiting procurement of suitable furniture appropriate for special need children.
In addition, Ms Fanikiso indicated that upgrading of Kedia Health Post to level one clinic, donor-funded by Crown Holdings through their community social responsibility initiative, had been fenced and the contractor was already on site.
She further informed the sub-council that construction of Mopipi Clinic with maternity wing by World Group of Companies had not yet commenced.
Plans, she said, had been approved by the Ministry of Health and transferred to Boteti Sub-council for approval.
Ms Fanikiso indicated that water and electricity connection payments had been done to pave way for the smooth take off of the project.
She indicated that relocation of Mosu Health Post donated by Landmark was ongoing.
Application for separation of water and power meters was approved and plans to donate beds to beneficiaries within the catchment area were afoot.
Ms Fanikiso also indicated that maintenance of Letlhakane Abattoir was ongoing, stating that phase one of the project was on defects and liability stage until April.
She stated that phase two of the project commenced in November 2021, and was expected to be completed by end of this month.
The second phase included installation of the splitting saw, internal and external painting of the structure as well as expansion of the kraals, among other things.
All internal works, she said, had been completed. Pending works, she said, included construction of a new slope and opening of a new truck access gate. ENDS
