Botswana-Zimbabwe commission Friday

The 3rd session of the Botswana-Zimbabwe Bi-national Commission (BNC), will take place in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe on Friday.
President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi is expected to participate at the two-nation meet aimed at exchanging views on the status of bilateral relations between Botswana and Zimbabwe.
A Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation media release says the meeting will also review progress on the implementation of cooperation commitments made at the 2nd session which took place in 2020.
“BNC, which is convened at the heads of state level is a prominent bilateral mechanism that provides the two countries a platform to engage extensively on issues of mutual interest,” it states.
The release explains that a senior officials as well as a ministerial session will precede the heads of state meeting which takes place February 21-23 and February 24 respectively.
Botswana and Zimbabwe cooperate in a number of areas including trade, energy, transport, agriculture, defence and security, education as well as health.
Ministers Dr Lemogang Kwape - International Affairs and Cooperation; Mr Kagiso Mmusi - Defence, Justice and Security; Mr Kefentse Mzwinila - Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services; Mr Lefoko Moagi - Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy; Mr Mmusi Kgafela - Investment, Trade and Industry; Mr Thulagano Segokgo - Transport and Communications; Ms Philda Kereng of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism as well as Assistant Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security Mr Molebatsi Molebatsi will form part of the presidential delegation. ends
