Donation by De Beers Holdings Botswana will go a long way in assisting the needy across the Tsabong sub-district  

Receiving the donation, which consisted of 17 beds, 49 blankets and 30 mattresses, on Tuesday, Tsabong sub-council chairperson Mr Ronald Baitsewe, said the donation solidified relations between the company, the community and council.

He  thus encouraged the company to continue extending a helping hand in other areas.

De Beers Holdings Botswana, operations support supervisor, Mr Robert Keokgale, said the donation was in line with the company’s corporate social investment goal of showing that it cared  about people in communities within which it operated.

He said they chose to donate the beds, blankets and mattresses to the less privileged members of the community, the vulnerable and the needy so that they could also have dignified life.

The operations support supervisor said the second hand beds were not used and the company realised that keeping them was of no value hence the need to donate them to those in need.

He said De Beers Holdings Botswana was currently in Maubelo and prospecting was ongoing in Kgalagadi thus it was important to assist communities within which it operated.

Mr Keokgale added that they had donated to the less privileged in Kgalagadi previously and they would continue to assist as and when there was need resources permitting.  ENDS
