Batswana are urged to participate and cooperate during national census exercise planned for March 18-31.
Speaking during the sub-council’s last sitting of the year 2021/22, chairman Mr Christopher Motsholapheko said that amongst other benefits of the exercise was that it facilitated evidence based development.
He said informed sub-district councilors that preparations for the March 18-31 national census were well underway.
The chairman said that trainee supervisors were undergoing training in Francistown while a search for more enumerators would ensue.
“The sub-district had intended to employ 308 enumerators, but has managed to recruit only 231 enumerators, resulting in a shortfall of 77,” Mr Motsholapheko said.
Due to the shortfall the coordinating team intends to re-advertise in order to meet the target, the chairman added.
Applicants should possess at least diploma in economics, statistics, population studies, environmental science, business management and other related qualifications.
The exercise was initially planned for August 2021, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. ENDS
