District commissioners employees celebrate Valentine s Day

Central government employees under the auspices of the Office of the District Commissioner in Francistown celebrated Valentine’s Day on Monday to reflect on workplace relations and strengthen team work.
Francistown District Commissioner, Ms Chabongwa Matseka said the idea behind the event was that they realised that celebrating together and engaging in joint activities boosted team morale and sparked a feeling of togetherness.
She advised the employees to use this day to introspect on their service delivery in the workplace. She said serving customers with a happy face demonstrated love and respect.
Ms Matseka also appealed to employees to respect each other in the workplace in their journey to enhance service delivery.
In his welcome remarks, District Administration Tender Committee chairperson, Mr Maemo Sedio explained that love was the best feeling that gave everyone the value of kindness, compassion, and selflessness and said for that reason, it played a role in improved productivity at work.
Valentine’s Day is celebrated annually on February 14 as lovers exchange cards, chocolates, flowers or gifts their special ones. ENDs
