No bursarssupplies officers in primary schools
10 Feb 2022
Primary Schools across the country do not have bursars and supplies officers due to manpower budgetary constraints.
Answering a parliamentary question on Wednesday, the Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Sethabelo Modukanele said other support staff such as cooks and cleaners were provided.
Mr Modukanele explained that supplies officers were needed and would be considered through the normal manpower processes subject to resource availability.
The Selebi-Phikwe East MP, Mr Kgoberego Nkawana had asked the minister if he was aware of shortage of supplies officers or bursars in Selebi Phikwe Primary Schools, which had increased the workload for head of departments as they had to carry out the those duties causing them to miss some classes.
Furthermore, he asked if there were any plans to create such posts. ENDS
