Success does not come by chance, it comes by hard work, sacrifice and focus, says Orapa Junior Secondary School head, Ms Kolobetso Seabe.
Presenting her school’s JC results to Orapa councillor, Mr Balopi Chilume, Ms Seabe said their results for 2022 exceeded the 2021 performance as they obtained 76.4 per cent pass rate compared to 72.7.
She said the school community set themselves a target of 90 per cent while the national target was 65 per cent.
She also said it was the school’s dream to produce a merit. She also noted that they had challenges due to COVID-19 and that some of the pupils wrote their examinations in quarantines.
For his part, Councillor Chilume commended teachers for producing good results during challenging times.
He noted that the school had set high standards among Boteti schools and that it always scooped position one in the Central District.
He also commended Debswana for setting a good foundation for the children to excel.
Debswana acting support services manager, Mr Brian Makhwaje said as part of their Building Forever strategy, the company’s aim was to elevate the standard of education in Orapa. ENDS
