Peacemakers Nico United draw
06 Feb 2022
Peacemakers and Nico United played to a 0-0 draw in their Saturday duel at Samabaje ground.
The First Division North top of the table clash was, however, not as fluid and exciting as spectators expected because of the poor condition of the pitch.
The two teams also seemed cautious in their approach to avoid losing points.
Peacemakers coach, Kelebogile ‘Two’ Dingalo, said ‘I was playing against a team that needed points dearly and with this draw my boys impressed me’.
The Nttodiboleda gaffer decribed the game as a good advertisement of football with both teams playing a tactical game despite being devoid of chances to score.
The Peacemakers coach said he instructed intend his boys to play their own style to sustain their position.
For his part, Nico coach, Botshelo ‘Observer’ Pelokgosi said despite promising to collect maximum points, the encounter was tough.
The coach argued that the state of the ground was not suitable for his style of play and that the game lacked the ingredients that supporters thronged stadiums for.
He suggested that Peacemakers should consider relocating to Sam Sono Stadium in Selebi Phikwe.
Observer also said Peacemakers were too defensive and spoilt the game. He commended the fighting spirit of his boys.
All in all, coach Pelokgosi was grateful for collecting a point away from home.
“I’m impressed with our second draw away from home. We were cognizant of the fact that we came here to play against a team that also had plans against us,” he said.
Pelokgosi promised a polished display in the coming games, saying he had transformed Nico.
The team has won six of their eight games while Peacemakers have four wins and three losses. ENDS
