Phuthadikobo Clinic staff in Molepolole have been commended for their dedication and commitment towards work and delivering on their mandate despite challenges.
Speaking after touring the health facility on Tuesday, Assistant Minister of Health and Wellness, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe expressed gratitude over the continuing dedication portrayed by the staff despite challenges they were faced with.
“We are grateful for continuing devotion, commitment and dedication despite challenges you are faced with,” said Mr Lelatisitswe, adding that they were serving Kweneng communities with high diligence and commitment.
He urged them not to despair and to commit to serving Batswana with loyalty to avoid unnecessary complaints.
He said the visit was part of his national tour to appreciate and get first hand information on impediments impacting on their operations. He added that the tour would also help the ministry to familiarise itself with issues on the ground.
The assistant minister also applauded their efforts in the fight against COVID-19. He said although the virus paralysed most government operations, they saved lives with limited resources at their disposal.
Phuthadikobo Clinic is one of the health facilities that has been able to achieve international standards of compliance and has attained COHSASA accreditation. He urged them to continue to work hard in order to retain the accreditation by maintaining high standards in their daily operations.
Meanwhile, Kweneng District Health Management Team (DHMT) coordinator, Ms Josphine Mosimanewakgosi bemoaned the severe shortage of resources in their clinic, saying it impacted on their efforts to deliver on their mandate.
She, however, assured the assistant minister of their unwavering commitment towards work. She said they were overstretched with limited resources worsened by the emergence of COVID-19.
She assured the minister that they were committed to delivering health services as per requirements.
Her sentiments were echoed by the clinic’s matron, Ms Tebogo Mosugelo who noted that they offered 24 hour service. She said they were overwhelmed due to the high population of over 12 000 clients. Ends
