MmathetheMolapowabojang high performer to get vehicle

Mmathethe-Molapowabojang constituency has introduced a performance reward system for public officers as a way of improving service delivery.

Addressing kgotla meetings in Digawana and Lorwana recently, MP Dr Edwin Dikoloti revealed that the best performer would be awarded a brand new Honda Fit.

Emphasising the importance of assisting customers/clients accordingly, Dr Dikoloti said expediting service delivery was key.

Public servants, he said, were crucial in ensuring that Batswana got quality and appropriate service at all times.

Dr Dikoloti said while government would like to ensure that developments and services reached people timeously, budgetary constraints were the biggest impediment.

He said prudent resource management remained the cornerstone in excellence.

Dr Dikoloti said it was paramount to align the government machinery to the Reset Agenda to take the country forward.

He informed his audience that government was exploring digitalisation to broaden and improve service delivery.

On other issues, Dr Dikoloti said government had suspended importation of some horticultural products as a way of supporting local producers and encouraging their growth.He said value chain development was a priority in his constituency for the purpose of enhancing food security, employment creation and contributing to the building of an export-led economy.

Stating that it was paramount to transform from a diamond-led to a knowledge-based economy,  Dr Dikoloti said he offered agricultural training sessions in his constituency to help in the diversification drive.
He revealed that Syngeta company had pledged to build a tunnel in Digawana for production of seedlings for sale countrywide.

Six young people would be identified on merit to run the project, he said.

Dr Dikoloti implored his constituents to seize business opportunities presented by the Mmathethe/Bray road project.

The MP, who is health and wellness minister, called for optimisation of water and electricity reticulation systems in the area in order to meet the demand quota.

For their part residents decried the alarming rate of crime in the area, with Mr Kwenakgosi Gasefete calling for an increase in the number of various security organs’ personnel. He called on residents to come forward with information that could lead to the arrest of perpetrators.ENDS
