Rollers clobbers Gilport Lions
17 Jan 2022
Township Rollers’ walloped Gilport Lions 4-0 in a match played at the Royal Aria Stadium in Tlokweng on Saturday.
From the first whistle, Popa out played the Gillies throughout.
Rollers had a field day as they enjoyed ball possession and made the Gillies chase their shadows most of the time.
Their sneaky passes around the Gillies box proved to be a challenge for their opponents.
They finally got a goal through Mosha Gaolaolwe’s header 10 minutes before half time.
Coming from recess, Gilport Lions woes worsened as Popa came with guns blazing, attacking from all angles.
Rollers dominance inside the Gillies half field exposed their opponents’ defence.
Gaolaolwe proved to be a thorn in the defence of the Gillies.
He connected with almost all the aerial balls from set pieces deliveries, missing targets by inches.
Rollers enterprising football opened up the Gillies defence and were rewarded with two goals within a space of three minutes.
The goals came through, Kago Monyake and Segolame Boy in the 49th and 52 minutes of the second half.
Boy again came to haunt the Gillies on the 81st minutes when he got his second goal.
Popa will take on Prisons XI on Tuesday. ENDS
