Government has been applauded for a playing a continuous role in assisting citizens to attain educational goals despite challenges posed by the COVID 19 pandemic. Zimbabwe’s International Institute of Certified Forensic Investigation.
Professionals (IICFIP) director, Mr Tarisai Dhlamini stated during a graduation ceremony for 52 Certified Forensic Investigation Professionals (CFIP) and Certified Forensic Investigation Audit Professionals (CFIAP) graduates held Saturday at Rankuke Training Institution in Gaborone.
Mr Dhlamini said the achievement was a notable effort considering that some graduates were government employees, sponsored by the government to partake in different programmes during the pandemic.
“The pandemic brought a lot to a standstill in different sectors worldwide, for the government of this country to push and continue with sponsorships indicates the country’s commitment towards the attainment of educational goals for its citizens,” he said.
Mr Dhlamini implored graduates to apply themselves and contribute meaningfully to society and the workforce. He said the graduation was timely since the world was transiting from the traditional ways of conducting business to using high technology.
Forensic science that comes along with CFIP and CFIAP programmes was a rapidly developing field that morphed from a traditional field of science into a high technology industry of professional service providers, he said. Rankuke Training Institution managing director, Mr George Kiilu said their goal was to produce graduates who could contribute meaningfully and be able to adapt to the ever-changing world of new evolving technologies.
Mr Kiilu noted that the institution had a fully furnished training lab that could train more than 15 learners at a time, in the latest digital forensic soft wares.
He noted that the software enabled investigators to examine, analyse and classify digital evidence with proper coordination. Other than CFIAP and CFIP programmes, the institution also has a partnership with the International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultant, an American organisation that offers Cyber Security Certification training.
Mr Kiilu said through the partnership, the institution now offered courses that included Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Secure Computer User, Web Application Hacking and Security as well as Cyber Security awareness among others. ENDS
