Khato Civils gives back to the community

In an effort to give back to the community, Khato Civils has built a three bedroomed house and an external two rooms house both worth P1million for a family of 16 in Leshibitse.

Speaking at the official handing over of the houses on Tuesday, Khato Civils Corporate Services Manager, Mr Toro Motiki said the project was done in line with the organisation’s principles of corporate social responsibility. He said both houses were fully furnished and utilities such as water and electricity had been connected.

The beneficiary, Mr Oboetswe Mabina thanked the company for bringing dignity to his family and promised to take care of the houses.

For his part, Kgosi Mooketsi Kgotlele of Leshibitse said when Masama-Mmamashia 100km water pipeline project began, village leadership requested Khato Civils to assist the less privileged in the community.

“That is when the company informed us that they will extend a helping hand by building a house for the Mabina family, said Kgosi Kgotlele.

Khato Civils also donated two COVID-19 isolation rooms to Rasesa Primary School and Rasesa clinic respectively. The company also electrified Leshibitse public library, built an eight washing basins facility in Artesia Primary School and erected fences around seven wards in Artesia.

Mr Motiki, who also handed over fenced wards in Artesia said kgotla systems was the basic platform of democracy hence it deserved to be dignified and respected. ENDS
