Basadi ba Dignity has donated Christmas hampers to children under pediatric care at the Mahalapye District Hospital.
The donation included, among others, toys, toiletries, tables, chairs and a DStv decoder set for the hospital pediatric ward.
Speaking at the handover ceremony on Friday, hospital superintendent, Dr Maxwell Mungisi applauded Basadi ba Dignity founder, Ms Taboka Chengeta for her generosity.
“Health is not just about taking medication. It means complete well-being and when the children are happy psychologically, it helps to speed their recovery,” said Dr Mungisi. For her part, Ms
Chengeta said the donation was geared at meeting the greatest need of children, especially those in hospital during the festive season.
“With the festive mood already upon us, I thought about the children admitted here at the pediatric ward during this time and found it necessary to do something that will put a smile on their faces and to also wish them speedy recovery,” she said.
Ms Chengeta thanked Ba Isago University, Broadway Toyota, Clicks, Spar, Vision Technologies, Flowertown Medical Centre, Digalaseng and Thyrsus Liquor Restaurant, among others, for their support and making the donation possible.
Basadi ba Dignity is a movement portrayed through a fashion and clothing brand to embolden members of the society to persevere in all circumstances they encountered in life.
Handing over the gifts, Kgosi Sebati Motlogelwa of Tshikinyega II ward also thanked Ms Chengeta for giving back to the society, saying what she did for the children was a true symbol of love and compassion. “God will continuously bless you for that spirit,” Kgosi Sebati said.
On the other hand, the hospital pediatrician, Dr Kinetsew Njembere also applauded Ms Chengeta for the gesture as well as other organisations that contributed towards making Basadi ba Dignity achieve its aim. ENDS
