There are no planned infrastructure projects for Tonota west in the current plan (NDP11/DDP8) due to budgetary constraints, Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Sethabelo Modukanele has told Parliament.

He said he was cognisant of the fact that Tonota west needed some developments amongst them village infrastructure services like water, roads infrastructure and electricity network. He said the provision of infrastructure by his ministry and other ministries would be considered alongside others through the normal planning processes.

Tonota MP, Mr Pono Moatlhodi had asked  if there were any plans to avail village infrastructure component with a view to avail developments to Tonota west which has existed as far back as 1997 and has no notable development, and if so, when and how. ENDS
