Merger presents huge opportunity
02 Dec 2021
The merger of Poverty Alleviation Housing Scheme and Poverty Eradication Kgalagadi Sand Building Blocks projects, presents a huge opportunity for reduction of input production costs.
Charleshill sub district council chairperson, Mr Baduetse Setswalo said this during a virtual council meeting on November 30.
Mr Setswalo explained that the merger, effective November 01, 2021, would see the creation of a cooperative model, which was expected to ensure that the two projects operated profitably.
He said modalities such as drawing up the constitution and election of board members were ongoing and expected to be completed by December 20, 2021.
He also said the merger would go a long way in improving the quality of construction and levels of home ownership within the sub district, adding “these are commendable efforts that will continue to accelerate the development agenda on our sub district”.
He thus appealed to all government departments, parastatals and other organisations to procure bricks from the project. ENDS
