The Northern Transvaal Tractors (NTT) Nissan company has donated 90 food hampers worth P50 000 to the elderly and less privileged in Kalamare.
Handing over the donation recently, the company‘s Group Compliance Manager, Mr Dominic Gombalume said the donation had become their tradition, as they have been donating food hampers and blankets to the residents on annual basis.
He said they mostly helped the elderly because most had no one to take care of them as their children were scattered in towns and cities in search of jobs.
He said they failed to donate blankets this year due to COVID-19 pandemic, adding that they would do so at the beginning of the year.
Mr Gombalume said they had also donated two water tanks, computers and printers to the village’s primary school.
Kgosi Goareng Mosenyi of Kalamare applauded NTT Nissan for giving back to the community.
He said they were not doing this because they have money, but because of the love they had for people.
Kgosi Godiramang Segotso pleaded with the reciepients to appreciate what they had been given, cautioning them against selling or exchanging the food hampers for alcohol.
Kgosi Segotso said if caught, they would be blacklisted and would not receive any help in future.
He advised those who did not need the food hampers to donate them to others.
Kgosi Segotso said they were pleased with what NTT Nissan had been doing for them, and wished the company prosperity. ends
