Debswana first division South league teams, Broadhurst United and Holy Ghost, will lock horns at SSG Grounds tomorrow at 4pm.

They both played their first games on November 24, which were supposed to have been played on November 20, but postponed due to water logged grounds. 

Broadhurst United played 0-0 against Mochudi Rovers while Holy Ghost lost 0-1 to Tlokweng United. 

In an interview, Broadhurst United spokesperson, Emmanuel Phambuka, said they did not perform well on their first game because of a number of reasons such as absence of key players and low levels of fitness due to late preparations for the season. 

However, Phambuka said their first game was not a reflection of the state of their team, noting that they would be well prepared for their encounter with Holy Ghost. 

He highlighted that their first game gave them an opportunity to determine where they needed to perfect. 

“We now have two days to perfect our scoring strategies and I believe the boys will be fit enough and ready for battle,” he said 

He urged supporters to come in large numbers to support the team. 

For his part, Holy Ghost chairperson, Thapelo Otimile, highlighted that they too lost their first match due to absence of some players. 

“About eight of our players were not available,” he said. 

He indicated that they were ready for battle, noting that players who were injured and those not available due to work engagements, would make it on Saturday. 

He said the team had been preparing well, having had a number of friendly games before the start of the season. 

Otimile was optimistic that his team was ready and promised supporters an interesting game. 

The other first division south games that would be played on Saturday are UF Santos against Mochudi Rovers, Tlokweng United vs Motaung Young Fighters, Taung Young Strikers vs Red Sparks, Matebejana vs Black forest and Mochudi Centre Chiefs against Matebele. ends
