Old age pension payments tenders are awarded using different tendering methodologies following PPADB procurement guidelines.

Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Setlhabelo Modukanele said three local companies, Botswana Post, Sandulela Telecom Botswana and Botswana Savings Bank (BSB) had been awarded tenders since inception to date.

However, he said BSB had not commenced payments of old age pensions because they had not completed distribution of visa cards to the beneficiaries.

Regarding the total value of tenders awarded since inception to date, Mr Modukanele said the value of tenders since 1996 were over P200 million. Mr Modukanele said the value of the current award stood at over P71 million.

Jwaneng-Mabutsane MP, Mr Mephato Reatile had asked how old age pension payments tenders were awarded and how many local companies had been awarded the tender from inception to date.

Mr Reatile also wanted to know the total value of tenders awarded since inception to date and the value of the current award. Ends
