Serowe Administrative Authority official has commended Mogoditsane based Be Free Christian Church for donating to Mmashoro schools and the community.
Be Free Christian Church donated 200 food hampers to the community as well as 100 pencil cases to be shared between Mmashoro primary and junior secondary schools.
Speaking at the handover ceremony in Mmashoro recently, Ms Mpho Lekgotla applauded the church for the gesture and assisting government in its efforts to improve the lives of Batswana.
“We are happy to see other stakeholders coming forward to assist given the limited resources at the council,” she said.
Handing over the donations earlier, the church founder, Prophet Keletso Moenda said the donation was a part of celebrating the life and legacy of the late Prophet T.B. Joshua.
“We are required to love the Lord and our neighbours, hence we decided to show our love to learners by giving them pencil cases as well as giving food hampers to the community. This an aspect we have learned from the late Prophet T.B. Joshua and we intend to continue showing God’s love to those in need,” he said.
He added that he was hopeful that the donation would help unite the community as well as learners in love and share with those that did not receive.
Both Mmashoro JSS school head, Mr Badisa Tabona and primary school deputy head, Ms Grace Kedidimetse, thanked Be Free Christian Church for the donation and for joining them in their efforts to nurture future leaders.
Kgosi Opelo Disang and Councillor Kgosiesele Kgosiesele also thanked and encouraged the church to keep up the spirit of giving and showing love to the community. ENDS
