Debonairs Galo donates to family

04 Nov 2021

Debonairs Galo mall recently donated food hampers and toiletries worth P2 000, to Ms Gakeope Mosikamedi of Monarch East in Area 7.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Debonairs Assistant Manager, Ms Mildrid Uyapo said the donation was part of the store’s corporate social responsibility.

She revealed that this was not the first donation as similar donations were extended to other underprivileged members of the community in the past.

She said every month each of the 22 stores across the country spent P2 000 to buy food hampers and toiletries to donate to an identified underprivileged member(s) of the community.

Accepting the donation, Ms Mosikamedi, who stays in a rented one bedroom house with her three children, thanked Debonairs Galo Mall store for the generosity it extended to her family.

She said like any other family, they had been affected by COVID-19, hence the donation would be put to good use.

Area Councillor, Mr Gopolang Almando said Monarch had many underprivileged people who needed assistance not only from government, but also from the private sector.

Councillor Almando said companies such as Debonairs must be applauded for the good work and appealed to other members of the business community and individuals to emulate it.

Meanwhile, specially elected councillor, Modiri Lucas said Batswana were known for their love and compassionate spirit, and appealed to them to also revive the spirit of self-reliance. ENDS
