Ministry recruits 20 OSET teachers

The Ministry of Basic Education has recruited 20 Out of School and Education Training (OSET) teachers for Tutume tegion.

This was revealed by local government and rural development assistant minister, Mr Mabuse Pule in response to a question on behalf of basic education minister during Ntlo ya Dikgosi meeting recently.

Mr Pule indicated that out of the 20 teachers, 16 were having classes and teaching while the remaining four were in the process of forming classes for lessons to commence.

“The ministry is prepared to engage more teachers if there is demand and is committed to eliminate illiteracy throughout the country. 

To help achieve this, I request for your support to encourage potential beneficiaries to come forward and enrol in the programme,” he said. Kgosi Rebagamang Rancholo of Tutume Region had told the minister of the shortage of OSET teachers within the Tutume region.

He also asked the minister if he was aware that Tutume region had the highest number of illiterate people and how he would address the issue. ENDS
