Maun Sub Land Board to resume plot allocations

After halting plot allocations planned for August this year due to COVID-19, Maun Sub Land Board will allocate about 2 094 plots in during this and next month and November.
The sub land board chairperson, Mr Clement Bethia announced when briefing Maun Administrative Authority council meeting on Friday.
“The current wave of COVID-19 pandemic negatively affected service provision, especially plot allocations,” Mr Bethia said.
He said 50 plots would be allocated September in Komana, 110 in Chanoga, 434 in Sexaxa between September and October, 750 October in Maun and another 750 November in Maun.
Mr Bethia said the sub land board had an ongoing project which aimed to address backlog and improve records management by fast tracking services and helping meet service standards which would, at the end earn the land board public trust.
Maun sub-land board chairperson, Mr Vepaune Moreti informed councilors that Sehithwa Sub Land Board had a waiting list of 14 254 residential and agricultural land.
Mr Moreti said the sub land board recently allocated 36 plots out of a targeted 61, due to plot unavailability.
He however, said Sehithwa Sub Land Board had an infill layout to be surveyed in the current quarter, and which had 1 030 plots, 954 of which would be for residential use.
Mr Moreti said the sub land board was in the process of advertising 30 plots to be allocated in the last quarter of 2021/2022, six of which were in Toteng, nine in Sehithwa and 15 in Kareng. ends
