Police in search of a young man
24 Aug 2021
Sehithwa police have embarked on a search of a 29-year-old man of Etsha 13 in the Okavango district who went missing over the weekend.
The station commander, Superintendent Nshaki Mabophiwa confirmed the search in an interview, stating that they had sought assistance for a helicopter as their efforts to trace him on foot did not bear fruit due to the tall grass in the area where the man was suspected to have gone.
He revealed that the young man was last seen at Tsau bus stop on Friday as he alighted from the bus with the intention to relief himself.
Superintendent Mabophiwa explained that the young man was working at one of the farms in the Ghanzi region and his employer had called his parents to fetch him as he seemed not fit for work.
He said his uncle had gone to fetch him but he disappeared while on their way back to Etsha 13.
He said upon receiving the report on Saturday, a team of police officers was dispatched to look for him as it was reported that he headed towards Kaure settlements some ten kilometres from Tsau.
The young man is reported to be tall, dark colour in complexion with hairy head and was wearing a brown trouser with a white T-shirt.
The police chief appealed to members of the community to contact the police with information regarding his whereabouts. ENDS
