Botswana’s 100 metre sensation Letsile Tebogo has delivered the first ever sprint medal for the country after scooping gold at the ongoing world under 20 athletics championships 2021 with a time of 10.19.
Tebogo’s road to the final has been smooth given that he finished on position one with a time of 10.22 in the heat, bettered his time in the semi-finals dropping Personal Best and National Record time of 10.11.
Track and field analyst Omogolo Ramoroba says Tebogo's tremendous starting technique as well as great acceleration won him the race.
“I mean who maintains top end that long, it shows that he was accelerating from 0-90 meters. Allow me to say Tebogo is the next big thing in the 100m sprinting event,” he said.
Ramoroba says with his strong athlete structure and very good powerful strides, Tebogo is capable of getting better. ends
