David Mogoma Foundation has donated medical equipment and consumables worth P127 000 to Ntshe Clinic.

The foundation donated 34 oximeters, 115 scrubs, 100 disposable gloves and 25 oxygen gauges to the clinic in Francistown recently.   

The foundation’s Public Relations Officer Mr Ofentse Mogoma said the organisation found it fit to extend a helping hand by donating to Ntshe clinic. 

He said they had observed that the clinic was overstretched by being an isolation centre.

Mr Mogoma said his foundation managed to help with the assistance from the German Embassy.

He explained that they chose Ntshe Clinic because of the load carried by the isolation centre.

Mr Mogoma said through the German Embassy support, they would play a vital role in assisting the heath sector around the country.

District Health Management Team Coordinator (DHMT) Dr Ivan Kgetse said it was the foundation’s keenness that made it possible for them to achieve their dream of donating.

He said they approached his office expressing their desire to donate and requested the DHMT to advance their needs that the foundation could address.

Dr Kgetse called on other organisation to extend their helping hands to health sector as their assistance was critical in saving lives.

DHMT Chief Pharmacist Mr Sechele Thebe said the gifts were relevant for an isolation centre as the patients required oxygen.

Mr Thebe said the isolation centre was experiencing shortage of pulse-rate measuring equipment and other medical supplies. He applauded the foundation for its vision of a healthy nation.

On the other hand, he said DHMT was open to any form of assistance including partnership.

He said working as a team was imperative as such would help address needs.  

The Chief Pharmacist said that government or Ministry of Health and Wellness alone could not manage hence the need for partnerships.  

For her part Principal Nursing Officer Ms Changanani Makole said the objective of the day was to celebrate the donation from David Mogoma Foundation and to recognise the importance of community involvement through Public, Private Partnership (PPP).

 

She said the day was also, to bear testimony of the partnership between David Mogoma Foundation and German Embassy, a move she wished others could emulate. ENDS
