Nhabe prepares for return to play

Nhabe Regional Football Association (NRFA) chairperson, Norman Sebele, says players will undergo counseling for a week prior to commencement of training.
Sebele said training for all regions was set for September 12, while the league will start on October 9.
He said this during the NRFA general assembly in Maun on August 7.
The NRFA, he said, would therefore ensure that all players go for counselling, adding that some coaches had expertise in counselling and therefore NRFA would utilise their services.
“We emphasise COVID-19 protocols to be followed such as sanitising. Training of medics has already been done to ensure players’ lives are preserved,” he said.
Sebele also said the teams would be assisted with funds to help the teams address some of their challenges and where necessary the NRFA would liaise with Botswana Football Association (BFA) for further assistance.
The NRFA is made up of teams from Maun, Gumare and Shakawe.
Giving a financial report, the NRFA treasurer, Malebogo Bojosi, said all teams under the association benefited from COVID-19 relief fund from the BFA for the 2019/2020 season which amounted to P44 494.
Bojosi also said the teams benefited from the COVID-19 relief fund of 2020/2021, which amounted to P243 4000.
She, however, said three teams were yet to receive their funds since they did not provide banking account details.
BFA national executive committee member from referees committee Alec Fela said BFA ensured that all 17 regional committees were functional.
Fela informed the NRFA assembly that another COVID-19 relief funding would be availed for teams to prepare for return to play in order to survive the first few months as well as ensure compliance to COVID-19 protocols. ENDS
