President launches SADC mission tomorrow

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi will today(August 8) as SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation chairperson launch the SADC Mission in Mozambique.
A Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation media release explains that the mission was deployed to support Mozambique in its fight against terrorism and violent extremism.
It further says the peacekeeping mission is a testament of the collective commitment by SADC member states to foster and promote regional peace and security.
The launch, in Pemba, will be attended by Mozambique president Mr Filipe Nyusi, who is also SADC chairperson, Professor Mpho Molomo, special representative of the organ chairperson and head of the SADC mission as well as senior government officials
President Masisi, who returns home Monday, is accompanied by Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation, Dr Lemogang Kwape, Minister of Defence, Justice and Security Mr Kagiso Mmusi and senior government officials. ends
