Mahalapye Sub-District has recorded 119 new COVID-19 cases and 72 deaths. 

District Health Management Team (DHMT) coordinator, Ms Thandie Kgosiesele said in an interview that by July 20, the sub-district had registered a cumulative number of 6 413 COVID-19 positive cases, 5 249 recoveries and 1 092 active cases.

“Of these 1 092 active cases, she said 1 026 were under home isolation, whilst 66 were under facility isolation,” she said.

Meanwhile, sharing the sub-district’s progress in COVID-19 vaccination roll out, Ms Kgosietsile said Mahalapye DHMT had already reached the target of 80 per cent in vaccinating the targeted group under Phase I, which covers adults aged between 55 years and above. 

Additionally, Ms Kgosiesele said from July 26, the DHMT focused on vaccinating people aged between 45 to 54 years. Ends
