The current economic status has evoked in many young people the desire to come up with any means possible to earn a living.
Ms Game Maposa, a 26 year-old from Serowe, used her own predicament to start a business making hair care products Dream Growth Made (D.G.M).
Her story is that as a young girl, her hair would not grow long and was told it never will.
Any attempt to grow her hair she said was defeated and instead, developed traction lopecia or machiepe in the vernacular.
None of the products she tried gave her the results she was hoping for.
Ms Maposa recalled that her hair condition got worse because she got what seemed like patches right in the centre of her head, forcing her to cut off hair.
She said she befriended YouTube and in 2017, started researching ways of growing healthy hair.
This she said started off because she wanted to improve her hair condition and for that she mixed coconut oil, aloe-gel and other essential oils and was pleased with the changes to her hair.
Ms Maposa said what started off as self help, turned into a business that now produced a variety of hair care products such as growth oil, leave in conditioner, cream and mask which have four types being herbal, hibiscus, protein and avocado masks, all of which contained aloe-gel, flaxseed gel and coconut oil as the main ingredient.
She said she used empty peanut butter jars to package her products but upgraded when customers started showing interest and buying her products.
Ms Maposa operates a Facebook page named D.G.M that she uses to advertise her work. ends
