Troops off to Mozambique

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi will today bid farewell a Botswana Defence Force (BDF) contingent leaving for Mozambique as part of a SADC standby force.
An Office of the President news release says the BDF personnel will be part of the SADC mission in Mozambique offering the country support to combat terrorism and acts of violent extremism in its Cabo Delgado region.
The BDF contingent will work intently with Forcas Armadas de Defesa de Mocambique and other SADC forces as well as those from countries that have bilateral agreements with Mozambique in designated sectors of responsibility within the Cabo Delgado region, says the release. Ends
