Increasing health protocols violation cases worrisome

Mahalapye police have expressed concern about increasing cases of failure to obey set COVID-19 health regulations in their jurisdiction.
Speaking in an interview yesterday, Senior Superintendent Reuben Mphoeng said 443 cases of non-compliance to COVID-19 protocols had been recorded July 1-21 in his policing area.
He said the fact that there were still people who violated the set protocols was cause for concern.
Of the 443 cases, 33 had been completed while 410 were pending, he said. Snr Supt Mphoeng said 251 cases were for failure to wear face mask, 154 for violating curfew hours and four for drinking alcohol in prohibited areas. In addition, 26 cases of people selling traditional brew during the sale of alcohol suspension period, eight of unlawful gathering and one for illegal transportation of alcohol were also recorded during the period under review, he said.ends
