Tshukudu Metals Botswana, which was recently granted a mining license, is ready to commence its first copper mining operations in Ghanzi region.
The company has dubbed the project Motheo. Addressing a special full council meeting recently, an elated Tshukudu Metals’ country manager and executive director, Mr Gaba Chinyepi said the company would build a T3 mine.
Thus, they were looking forward to presenting the company strategic plan to the Ghanzi full council meeting in September.
He also told the special council meeting that their mother company, Sand Fire Resources based in Australia, had approved the budget to process Motheo project.
He indicated that the T3 mine had a 12 and half year mine life, adding ‘that is when you mine 30 million tons per year.’
On one hand, the council meeting also heard that the company had a farm where they recently discovered another copper deposit. “At this point we are unable to share its life span because resource estimates are still being undertaken,” he said. ENDS
