Zebras hold own destiny
14 Jul 2021
The senior national football team, the Zebras, will have to win today’s game against eSwatini if they are to realize their dream of qualifying for COSAFA CUP semifinals.
The two sides meet at Isaac Wolfson stadium at 3pm.
The Zebras have a mountain to climb after losing 1-2 to Zambia yesterday. To proceed to the next stage, Botswana would have to beat eSwatini with two goals and above without conceding.
eSwatini are on position two with six points whereas Zebras are on position three with three points.
Zebras coach, Letang Kgengwenyane said a win against Zambia would have put them in a better place to proceed with the tournament.
“But our loss against Zambia does not mean all is lost, eSwatini has six points and has a goal difference of two,” he said.
He said Zambia, which face South Africa, also had three with a negative one goal difference. Ends
