Thirteen Sesung families in the Takatokwane constituency have received food hampers and blankets from Apostle M Daniel Ministries, a church with its headquarters in Letlhakeng.
Speaking at a handover ceremony in Sesung on Saturday, overseer and founder of the church, Apostle Daniel Letshwenyo said the initiative dubbed Hear My Cry Initiative, was a divine gesture of providing to the needy.
He said it was expected of all Christians across the world to give to those in need.
Apostle Daniel said it was God’s love that brought them to Sesung.
He added that as people prayed for divine mercies, they should in return give to others.
Apostle Daniel said through the Hear My Cry Initiative, the church intended to continue giving to the needy in different communities.
He urged the community of Sesung to take farming seriously so that they could be able to feed themselves and also give to others. He said God’s desire was to see people planting crops and rearing animals to better their lives.
He said some church members would also benefit from the initiative.
Beneficiaries said they were overjoyed to receive the blessing especially in such difficult times.
Ms Gobonamang Sehularo and Kenonye Letheba said the food hampers came in handy and would help their families a lot.
They urged the church to continue giving to others.
In his word of encouragement, Village Development Committee (VDC) chairperson, Mr Francisco Moratiwa, said they were honoured to have been chosen among many to benefit from the donation.
He said there were many needy families in Sesung including children and when the church reached out to them, they felt blessed.
Mr Moratiwa encouraged the beneficiaries to use their donations properly at all times.
He thanked the church for the donation and encouraged them to continue giving.
For his part, Kgosi Lekang Motoane said he was thankful to the church for giving to the need in his village.
He said it was divine intervention that led them to Sesung and called on other stakeholders to assist those in need.
Kgosi Motoane said the food hampers and blankets were given in the spirit of love hence beneficiaries should likewise receive them with love.
He further said the donation was a sign of good things to come to his village. ends
