Botswana will today lock horns with Zambia in a COSAFA Cup encounter at Isaac Wolfson Stadium in South Africa.
The Zebras will enter the game beaming with confidence after demolishing Likoena of Lesotho 4-0 on Saturday, courtesy of Tumisang Orebonye’s hat-trick and Thatayaone Kgamanyane’s goal.
In their first game, the Zebras lost 0-1 to Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Coach Letang Kgengwenyane and his charges are aware of the significance of a win against Chipolopolo.
Kgengwenyane said in an interview that morale in the injury-free camp was high.
The coach said he was expecting Kabelo Seakanyeng, Thatayaone Ditlhokwa and Kago Monyake to join the rest of the team
“We are not sure about Mothusi Cooper because what we heard is that he has an urgent matter that he needs to solve with his Zambian team,” he said.
Furthermore, Kgengwenyane said he would love all players to be present since they would play against Zambia today and eSwatini the following day.
He said they needed to win both games, but they were not even given 48 hours to recover as per the scientific recommendation that players should rest and recover after playing.
The coach said they would be forced to change their game approach against Zambia bearing in mind that they were going to play two games in a short period of time.
He said their approach would have to create depth.
Kgengwenyane, however, assured Batswana that preparations for the Zambia encounter had gone well.
“We have a good game plan and we are now left with executing it” he quipped. Ends
