While the world is grappling with COVID-19 and many have already lost their lives to it, some have been lucky enough to live to tell the story.
69-year-old Ms Maggie Banyatsi of Moseki ward in Serowe is one of the people who have been able to beat COVID-19.
In an interview recently, Ms Banyatsi explained how she tested positive for COVID-19 on June 1 after feeling unwell for some days.
With her fears confirmed and having been admitted at Serowe’s Old Sekgoma Clinic, Ms Banyatsi said that marked the beginning of an intense battle for survival.
She said while the virus left her with weakened lungs, she was grateful for the care that the staff at the clinic gave patients that were receiving care at the facility.
Having been lucky to have survived, Ms Banyatsi cautions Batswana to heed calls for all to abide by the protocols put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
She said given the severity of the virus as well as the havoc it wreaked on the bodies of those infected, Batswana should not grow complacent with their efforts to prevent its spread. ENDS
