Kgosi suggests use of coupons at funerals

Kgosi Tshwaro Masisi of Mabesekwa in the Tonota Sub-district has proposed use of coupons during funerals.
Speaking in an interview, Kgosi Masisi said the strategy could help in limiting the number of people attending funerals to 50.
He explained that in Mabesekwa, people failed to observe the 50 people per funeral regulation.
He said ‘people do not wear face masks and fail to keep social distances,’” adding that the leadership had in the past tried to educate residents, but due to consumption of alcohol, the situation had not improved.
“Mabesekwa is just a small settlement but with a lot of sheebens,” he said, adding that there were traditional home brews such as modaifoko, khadi and Chibuku.
However, Kgosi Masisi said the completion of a police post in the settlement would help bring order, noting that so far, it had been roofed and electricity installed.
“I think, after installing furniture, the post will now be handed over to the community for usage,” he said. Ends
