ICTs improve learning Mothibedi

05 Jul 2021

The use of ICT in education improves learning and can go a long way in establishing a strong foundation for better engagement by learners.

Majwe Mining deputy project director, Mr Caster Mothibedi, said this when donating computers to Seepapitso Senior Secondary School in Kanye recently.

He said it was out of recognition of the fact ICT was a critical enabler in learning that Majwe Mining decided to donate ICT equipment to schools across the Southern District.

He said so far the company had donated to five schools.

Mr Mothibedi challenged Seepapitso staff to work together for better results, using the equipment his company donated.

Majwe Mining donated seven computers and a printer all valued at P61 000.

School principal, Mr Kgari Ramodisa, said the donation was a much needed shot in the arm for his school, which had been struggling to procure ICT equipment.

He promised the school would use the equipment to improve academic performance.

Deputy school head, Ms Evelyn Marambe, expressed delight at the donation, adding COVID-19 had made teaching and learning a big challenge as schools now, more than ever, needed new technologies, which they could not afford with their shoestring budgets.

Ms Marambe said the equipment would allow teachers to type, store data, prepare and print notes and examination papers for learners. She thanked the company for the donation to her school and others. Ends
