Botswana hosts three-day SADC Parliamentary Forum

The 49th virtual SADC Parliamentary Forum convenes tommorrow (June 25) focusing on the role Parliament can play in leveraging the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
A National Assembly news release says President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi will officially open the three-day forum held under the theme: Leveraging the AfCFTA for post COVID economic recovery in Southern Africa: The role of SADC Parliamentary Forum and national parliaments.
It says the forum will feature presentations by different key role players including AfCFTA, SADC and SACU secretariats as well as Botswana government as the host.
The release emphasises the forum’s role in ensuring a coordinated and collaborative approach by parliaments in building the requisite capacity for parliamentarians and relevant parliamentary committees. Ends
