20 Jun 2021

First Sun Alliance Insurance Brokers has partnered with Botswana Doctors Union  with the aim of providing its members with tailor-made financial insurance plan solutions.

Speaking at the launch of the partnership, the union’s President, Dr Shingirai Muzondiwa welcomed the union's efforts in bringing the insurance broker that would  afford medical doctors an opportunity to gain financial freedom and wealth creation through its various services.

He said the partnership between the union and First Sun Alliance Insurance would ensure that the union members’ financial future was secured.

Dr Muzondiwa said the medical profession was a selfless occupation that included long working hours often in adverse working conditions and under immense pressures to save lives.

It was for this reason that  the union found it suitable to lessen the burden that its members faced with financial planning and literacy, he said.

“As a union, we wanted to de-franchise the burden of financial thinking and planning of our busy doctors in health facilities,” he said.

Further, Dr Muzondiwa  said the partnership would not only benefit its members but their kinship as well so that they too could emerge as a financially literate generation.

For his part, First Sun Alliance Insurance Managing Director, Mr Paul Chitate said his company was aware of the daunting and self-sacrificing duty that medical doctors were often faced with on a daily basis hence the partnership that aimed to address the union members  financial needs at competitive rates.

He said the partnership would include individual and group life cover, retirement investment, fiduciary services which included estate planning amongst other amenities.

“We pledge to look after all your financial requirements and at the same time secure your financial future so that you can carry out your professions without any hassles,” he said. Ends
