Council chairperson urges district leadership to tackle challenges

North West District Council (NWDC) chairpersonn Mr Kebareeditse Ntsogotho has challenged the district leadership to prioritise and attain more results with available resources.

Officiating at NWDC session on Monday, he said the council was committed to embracing the President’s recent priorities that espouses reset and mindset change. 

Mr Ntsogotho said councillors as community leaders were obligated to ensure that people’s lives were developed even amidst challenges of COVID-19.

The NWDC, he said, was committed to attaining the recently communicated government’s top priorities of saving Botswana’s population from COVID-19, aligning Botswana government machinery to the Presidential agenda, digitalisation, value chain development and mindset change.

He said it was upon Batswana to rise up to the challenge of attaining the nation’s long term goal of becoming a high income country. 

He said government was committed to redoubling efforts by prioritising available limited resources to achieve goals and have impactful developments.

Mr Ntsogotho, therefore, said there was need to embrace new and innovative ways to fast-track success across the public service. 

 

He said successful implementation of the new priorities would help Botswana attain high income country status by 2036.  ENDS
