A businessman in Mabeleapodi, Mr Adil Jakdar on Tuesday donated blankets and winter clothes to the less privileged members of the Mabeleapodi community.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mr Jakdar said he was a strong believer in giving.

The businessman, who established his store in the village four months ago, implored residents of Mabeleapodi to accept him and treat him as one of them.

To extend his goodwill, he said he would also be donating P1 000 every monthly to assist orphaned children in the village, adding that if one had the ability to help others they should do so whole-heartedly.

Kgosi Sebonego Tebelelo of Mabeleapodi said Mr Jakdar’s gesture should motivate other business owners in the village to follow suit.

He encouraged the recipients to take good care of their gifts.

Mabeleapodi councillor, Mr Nametso Senku was also thankful for the wonderful work Mr Jakdar was doing for the community.

One of the beneficiaries, Ms Gabogalalwe Kgosipelo, expressed gratitude, saying it was thoughtful of Mr Jakdar to buy the villagers blankets as the winter cold was beginning to bite.

She said she believed Mr Jakdar was God-sent and he and his store would be a great asset to Mabeleapodi. ENDS
